8 Must See Classic Family Movies
If you’re like me, you feel like there’s not much on television worth watching anymore. As a family, we like to be able to sit down and watch a movie that makes us feel good when it’s over and not guilty for allowing ourselves to watch it.
For that reason, some of our favorite movies are the good ole’ movies from several years ago. I’m talking - the classics.
Just in case you’re interested, I’ve included here a few of our favorites.
- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
- Mary Poppins
- The Sound of Music
- Lady and the Tramp
- Singin’ In the Rain
- The Swiss Family Robinson
- Peter Pan
- It’s a Wonderful Life
If you haven’t seen any of these movies, you may want to have a family night and give them a try. Although I haven’t actually checked my library, I bet there’s a good chance several of these are available for you to check out since they’re older and classics.
What are some of your all-time family favorites? I’m always on the lookout for good wholesome family movies.

A woman after my own heart! Our three haven’t watched a full-length feature yet, but when they do, these will be top of the list.

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven’t seen the older version of this one. I’ll add it to our Netflix list and give it a try!
I know its a newer one, but we all enjoyed Horton Hears a Who.
We recently got Apple Dumpling Gang and enjoyed it. My girls love Summer Magic with Hayley Mills, and don’t forget the Herbie movies!
