I’m Taking Care of My Little Man
Hi everyone! I’m still here. Do you ever have those times when you just have too many things going on at once?
Yeah, me too and that’s where I’ve been lately…my husband’s been out of town/country a lot recently with work…there was a water leak that flooded my office…my son started kindergarten and had eye surgery…so, you get the picture.
In regards to that last issue, I’ve been quite distracted lately by my son’s recent surgery to remove a cataract from his eye. This took place just a little over a week ago, so I spent all last week focusing on taking care of him and keeping him calm.
If you’ve been reading for a while, you may remember a post I wrote entitled On a Mission to Healthier Eating in which I discussed some alternatives to surgery we were going to try before resorting to surgery.
Well, with David starting school, we realized we would have to move forward with surgery. The cataracts had made his vision so bad that he could barely recognize me from a few feet away. Oh yes, very heartbreaking.
Surgery was a difficult decision, but we prayed about it and felt it was the right decision under the circumstances.
And, in case you’re wondering, David is doing extremely well. The day after surgery we took the patch off his eye and a couple of hours later he said he could already see better with that eye.
We took him for his post op checkup a few days after the surgery and the doctor said David was doing better than expected. The doctor also believes that with the progress made so far he will end up with “perfect” vision. I definitely Praise the Lord for that.
We will be going on September 18th for surgery on the other eye. I am praying everything goes as well with the left eye as it has with the right one.
Anyway, my point being, I’ve let this blog slip a little in order to take care of what matters to me most - my family. I’m sure you can understand.
I just wanted to let you know where I’m at right now. Thanks for reading!!

Oh, the poor little guy!
My daughter has a cataract, in fact, it’s a matching one to mine. It is too small to operate on, but it does cause vision problems.
I feel for him!
When I was little, I had to wear a patch and it always felt WAY better when my Mom would let me pick a sticker to put on it.

Praying your little guy recovers quickly. When my daughter was younger we had to make the difficult decision to have her tonsils removed. It ended up being the best thing we ever did, but it is so hard to go through!
