I’m back….
Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve written anything on here. The truth is I miss blogging at Mommy’s Idea Book. I have my personal blog, but it’s just not the same. I miss you guys….or should I say gals.
I thought I would start back writing here occasionally. I’m not making any commitments like before though. Quite honestly, it just plain stressed me out too much. Yeah, I know that probably sounds silly.
So, you never know what you’re gonna get now
….or when exactly. Oh, but I’ll try to post something at least once a week.
Ahhh…feels good to be back….talk to you soon!!

Hello everyone! I know it’s been awhile, so let me start by apologizing for leaving you hanging for so long.
That said, I’ve got good news and somewhat sad news.
The Good
I’ll begin with the good. If you read my last post you’ll know that my son had to have surgery on his eyes to remove congenital cataracts.
I thought you might like an update, so here it is.
The surgeries on both eyes could not have turned out better. The doctor was extremely pleased with the results and said that in a few years David should only need glasses for reading.
As for myself, I can’t explain how wonderful it is to see my little guy get excited over simple things like seeing a rainbow in the sky or even a little tiny bug on the windshield of the van. I praise God for these wonderful results.
The Sad
On another note, I mentioned earlier having somewhat sad news also. Well, as you might have figured out already, I have decided to let Mommy’s Idea Book go.
No doubt, blogging here has been fun and I’ve so much enjoyed your comments and support along the way. At this point, I just don’t feel I have any more to give here and that my time is better spent doing things with and for my family.
However, I am still blogging on our family website SimplyABCD. You are more than welcome to visit me there anytime. There I feel free to write about whatever or whoever, and whenever I want, no expectations. I find this much easier and less stressful for me.
Again, thank you for being a loyal reader and I hope you will come visit occasionally on my other website.
As I go, I leave you with this blessing found in Numbers 6:24-26:
“May the Lord bless you and keep you: May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.”

I’m Taking Care of My Little Man
Hi everyone! I’m still here. Do you ever have those times when you just have too many things going on at once?
Yeah, me too and that’s where I’ve been lately…my husband’s been out of town/country a lot recently with work…there was a water leak that flooded my office…my son started kindergarten and had eye surgery…so, you get the picture.
In regards to that last issue, I’ve been quite distracted lately by my son’s recent surgery to remove a cataract from his eye. This took place just a little over a week ago, so I spent all last week focusing on taking care of him and keeping him calm.
If you’ve been reading for a while, you may remember a post I wrote entitled On a Mission to Healthier Eating in which I discussed some alternatives to surgery we were going to try before resorting to surgery.
Well, with David starting school, we realized we would have to move forward with surgery. The cataracts had made his vision so bad that he could barely recognize me from a few feet away. Oh yes, very heartbreaking.
Surgery was a difficult decision, but we prayed about it and felt it was the right decision under the circumstances.
And, in case you’re wondering, David is doing extremely well. The day after surgery we took the patch off his eye and a couple of hours later he said he could already see better with that eye.
We took him for his post op checkup a few days after the surgery and the doctor said David was doing better than expected. The doctor also believes that with the progress made so far he will end up with “perfect” vision. I definitely Praise the Lord for that.
We will be going on September 18th for surgery on the other eye. I am praying everything goes as well with the left eye as it has with the right one.
Anyway, my point being, I’ve let this blog slip a little in order to take care of what matters to me most - my family. I’m sure you can understand.
I just wanted to let you know where I’m at right now. Thanks for reading!!
